Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Rodeo

Boys Ranch, TX- The area's rodeo that features kids only, will buck into action over Labor Day weekend. For 64 consecutive years the Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Rodeo has provided an opportunity for the students living at Boys Ranch and Girlstown, U.S.A. to showcase their talents in events ranging from stick horse racing and mutton bustin' (sheep riding) to barrel racing. More than 90 Cal Farley's residents will spend their summer practicing and preparing to compete in front of thousands of spectators that will cheer them on.

The Rodeo will feature boys and girls competing for belt-buckles and saddles in calf riding, stick horse racing, steer riding, pole bending, barrel racing, break away roping and bull riding. At the conclusion of Sunday's competition, the high-point holders will be named Senior All-Around Cowboy and Senior All-Around Cowgirl.

In addition to highlighting the skills of the boys and girls, the rodeo serves as the annual homecoming for Cal Farley's alumni. Many former residents are expected to attend the rodeo and participate in alumni events.
